Jeanne Scheele, P.T.

Jeanne Scheele, P.T. Kaplan Center for Integrative Medicine Jeanne Scheele has practiced physical therapy in Northern Virginia for 35 years and serves as the Kaplan Medical Center’s Physical Therapy Director. Jeanne brings a high level of professional knowledge and skill to her work with patients, having practiced in a variety of challenging settings including hospital rehabilitation units, private medical offices specializing with in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation, out-patient clinics for orthopedic therapy and rehabilitation, and as a home-health physical therapist. Jeanne has also provided direct services to patients at Loudoun Hospital Center in Leesburg, VA, where she served as the Hospital's Clinical Instructor for Master's-Level physical therapy students from seven universities.

Jeanne has physical therapy experience and training in the following specialized areas:


  • Acute-pain problems
  • Chronic pain/disability caused by illness or injury
  • Women's health - pre- and post-menopausal effects of aging
  • Pelvic pain, coccyx pain, and urinary/fecal incontinence
  • Orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation

Jeanne holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland and a Certificate of Proficiency in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland's School of Medicine. Texas Women's University awarded Jeanne a Certification in Neurodevelopmental Techniques for Adult Hemiplegia. In the last ten years Jeanne has focused her continuing-education efforts on pain management, and in particular, on the use of physical therapy to decrease women's pelvic pain and to manage incontinence.

Jeanne wrote the article, "Efficient Movement with Physical Therapy" and coauthored the manual, “The Trinity Six-Step Program: Rehabilitation for Musculoskeletal Dysfunction.” To provide individuals with an entryway to physical fitness, Jeanne developed "The Core Connection to Spinal Stability: A Beginner's Course," a 4-hour program that Jeanne regularly offers at the Kaplan Center. As a public service, Jeanne has provided free lectures on health-related topics to Arlington County senior citizens.
